What?  Is that possible?  It’s not only possible, but it’s very practical and the flavor and texture is moist and delicious.  You can take some of your favorite recipes and adjust them to be made in the pressure cooker.

Pressure cooker dessert recipes are becoming increasingly easier to find.  Just a little searching on the web will bring up many different possibilities.  But if you are converting your favorite recipe it might be necessary to cut the recipe in half depending on the size of pressure cooker you are using.

But if I am cooking for a crowd I usually use the larger size because if there are leftovers I can send them on home with folks.

One important thing to remember is to use the natural release method when the cooking time is completed.  I wouldn’t recommend using the quick release method by putting the pressure cooker under running water in the sink.  This will change the texture of the food.

The new and popular silicone cooking products can be used inside the pressure cooker for many of the desserts. You can also use heat proof containers or the metal insert that came with your pressure cooker to cook the desserts in. If you are using the insert for your pressure cooker and it has holes in it, make sure to line it with foil.

  • Cheese cakes
  • Cooked fruit with wine sauce
  • Flan
  • Custard
  • Candies
  • Bread pudding
  • Some cakes
  • Rice Pudding
  • Pudding
  • Pie fillings to put into a precooked pie crust

It is really a lot of fun to make desserts in the pressure cooker. You’ll be so surprised how easy it is and how wonderful the results turn out.  So treat your family or friends to something delicious and sweet to finish off the meal.  They will remember and be talking about the wonderful pressure cooker dessert you made for a long time.  So start experimenting right awawy for this fun and easy way to make desserts everyone will love.
